  • Corporate Partner, Consolidated Credit, Wins Big
    Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc. (Consolidated Credit) received the 2012 Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award. The EIFLE Awards were introduced six years ago, to acknowledge innovation, dedication, and the commitment of individuals and organizations that support financial literacy education worldwide. The Institute received a record number of nominations, and awarded an unprecedented 19 EIFLE Awards to recipients. The award was presented at the Annual Conference on Financial Education in Orlando, Florida on April 18, 2012 at the Caribe Royale Hotel.

    The Institute for Financial Literacy is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization whose mission is to promote effective financial education and counseling. The Annual Conference on Financial Education provides professional development opportunities for individuals who work with financial literacy education and offers attendees a critical networking event and the opportunity to learn about current trends, develop funding strategies and otherwise advance the cause of financial education.

  • Corporate Partner Renaissance Hotel, Plantation Renovates:

    The Renaissance Hotel in Plantation has completed a 3.8 million dollar renovation.   • Consolidated Credit Launches New HUD Housing Counseling Services: Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, Inc. has received approval from the Office of Housing and Urban Development to offer housing and foreclosure avoidance counseling to South Florida. As a HUD housing counseling agency, Consolidated Credit will be joining the struggle to help the countless numbers of consumers who have been devastated by the fallout from the mortgage crisis as well as help first-time home buyers make smart choices based on sound financial principles. Consolidated will provide programs such as Reverse Equity Mortgage Counseling, Post-Purchase Counseling, Predatory Lending Education, Financial Management/Budgeting, and Home Buyer Education Workshops. Foreclosure prevention counseling services are provided by nonprofit housing counseling agencies working in partnership with the Federal Government.

  • Gulfstream Park Racing and Casino Joins the Huizenga Business School as Corporate Partner

    The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship welcomes Gulfstream Racing and Casino as Corporate Partners. Gulfstream Park is Florida’s premier thoroughbred track and county-approved racino in Hallandale Beach. One of the most important venues for horse racing in America, highlights include the $1 million Florida Derby (which produced 21 Kentucky Derby winners, including Barbaro and Big Brown). In addition to world-class thoroughbred racing, Gulfstream offers live music in the Casino Wednesday through Sunday from 7 p.m. to midnight. Fine dining is offered by Silks Food Court, Ten Palms’ buffet-style dining, and the famous Christine Lee’s, a 37 year award-winning establishment featuring prime sirloin steaks, Asian specialties and a sushi bar.   • Jeff Ostrow, managing partner of TKO, is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the firm. He has been named as one of Florida's “Legal Elite Attorneys,” a finalist for the South Florida Business Journal's Key Partners Award, and is a member of Cambridge Who's Who Among Executives and Professionals. Ostrow graduated from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University with a Juris Doctorate.

Rock 'n' Roll Night, September 12, 2008

The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship held its fourth annual Rock 'n' Roll Night on September 12 at the Signature Grand. The event raised more than $125,000 for undergraduate scholarships and several corporate partners were in attendance. The scholarships will benefit Huizenga Business School students in need of financial assistance.
