All graduate business students are automatically considered members of the Graduate Business Student Association. Any student wishing to become more active within the organization can apply to become an Executive Team Member. Email gbsa@huizenga.nova.edu for information on becoming more active. Through involvement with the GBSA, students improve confidence, communication, and the leadership skills needed in the workplace. In addition, invaluable contacts are made for future business success. The GBSA is the Huizenga Business School's Student Government Association and thus represents business students at NSU. Each term, the GBSA regularly hosts “Power Lunches” in the DeSantis Building with a wide variety of speakers. Informational session speakers have ranged from career coaches to successful entrepreneurs. Executives from hiring companies such as Office Depot, MTV Networks Latin America, and BankAtlantic have enriched student perspectives. The annual Etiquette Dinner held in a local hotel is one of several GBSA special evenings which rounds out the educational activities. Participation in community service and NSU events is also a vital part of the GBSA. Social events fill in the calendar every term as well! |
