Paola Balaguera, Treasurerpbalague@nova.edu
I am from Bogota, Colombia and moved to Florida a year ago in order to do the Master of International Business Administration Program at NSU. In 2007 I earned my bachelor's degree in Finance and International Relations from the Externado de Colombia University. I was a Credit Analyst with Leasing Bolivar; and when I came to Florida, I worked with the IRS as a part of the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistant) Program. My goal is to apply my knowledge in international banking, especially at organizations such as the World Bank or financial groups like Citigroup or HSBC.
Judith Diaz, Community Service Chairjd1124@nova.edu
I am originally from Margarita Island, Venezuela. In 2001, I moved to the U.S. as I was granted a full scholarship from Laredo Community College, to play tennis and represent the school. In 2002, I became part of Tyler Junior College, is Texas, recognized as the #1 Junior college tennis team in the nation.
Thanks to hard work and dedication, in 2003, the coach of Kansas State University offered me a full scholarship to join the Kansas State Tennis Team starting my journey in Manhattan, Kansas. Being a student-athlete is very demanding, and a high grade point average is required to be eligible to stay on the team. During my last academic year, I was an intern for a recruiting health-care organization in charge of finding prospective candidates and companies requesting their services. In spring of 2006, I graduated from Kansas State University with a dual degree on Management Information Systems, and Management. After graduation, I worked for Sprint Nextel Corporation (Kansas) in the Payments Department to arrange misapplied payments and fix issues in the customers’ accounts. At the end of 2007, I decided to start the MBA as well as joining a part time working professional program at Baker University in Overland Park, Kansas. In October 2008, I transferred to the MBA full time program at Nova Southeastern University.
