Clarence Pohlman Scholarship
Award Amount: one time award of $3,000
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Requirements:
- The scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate business students planning to enroll full time in the day program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship in a business related major.
- Awards are made to students who demonstrate high academic achievement.
- Applies to U.S. Citizens.
- Students must have a cumulative high school GPA of a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for an incoming freshman or a current college cumulative GPA of a 3.5. The most recent GPA will be the one considered for eligibility
- Essay describing your educational goals and objectives, and your plan for achieving these goals. List any extraordinary qualifications and/or any special attributes or accomplishments that distinguish you from other applicants.
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation
- Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA.

Emerald Asset Scholarship
Award Amount: one time award of $5,000
Deadline: November 1, 2012
Requirements:
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled or planning to enroll at the H. Wayne Huizenga Business School.
- A minimum GPA of 3.4 (on a 4.0 scale). A minimum SAT score of 1200 or minimum ACT score of 27 for incoming freshman only.
- Submission of a 300-500 word essay describing the challenges faced by the finance/business industry today.
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation from an academic and/or professional contact.
- Demonstration of financial need through FAFSA.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
Required Documentation:

- Official transcripts (GPA) in sealed envelope
- Copy of official high school or previous college transcript (if applicable)
- Copy of official SAT/ACT test scores (if applicable)
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation from an academic and/or professional contact.

Florida Marlins Community Foundation Scholarship
Award Amount: one time award of $3,000
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Requirements:
- Awards are open to current students (full time enrollment) in the undergraduate day program at the Huizenga School in the sport and recreation management major.
- Students will have contributed extensively to the sport and recreation management community through volunteerism and/or work experience.
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Recipients must reapply every year.

H. Wayne Huizenga Scholarship
Award Amount: one time award of up to $3,000
Deadline: November 1, 2012
Requirements:
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled or planning to enroll at the H. Wayne Huizenga Business School.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Whichever GPA is most recent (high school or college) at the time of the application is the GPA that will be used to determine eligibility.
- A minimum SAT score of 1100 or minimum ACT score of 24 for incoming freshman only.
- A resident of Broward County.
- Submission of a 500 word essay on why you want to attend the Huizenga Business School.
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who can evaluate your academic ability and potential.
- Demonstration of financial need through FAFSA
Required Documentation:

- Copy of high school or previous college transcript (in sealed envelope)
- Two (2) signed letters of recommendation
- 500 word essay

H. Wayne Huizenga Day Student Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,500 per year for 4 years
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be an undergraduate freshman or transfer student planning to enroll full time in a day business program (PALS)
- Students must have a minimum HS or College GPA of 3.75 (on a 4.0 scale) minimum SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 26
- Students must be U.S. Citizens
- Students must demonstrate involvement with charitable organizations and volunteerism - preference will be given to those involved with the Boys & Girls Club of America
- Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA
- Must maintain cumulative GPA of 3.5 in order to retain scholarship
- Submission of an essay demonstrating involvement in charitable organizations
- Students must remain in good academic standing with the University

Falcone Group Scholarship
Award Amount: $2,000 per year for 2 years
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Eligibility Requirements:
- Awards are made to full time (12-15 credits) undergraduate freshman or transfer students planning to enroll in a day business program (PALS).
- Students must be U.S. Citizens and have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
- Students must have a SAT score of 1100 or ACT score of 24 or higher.
- Students must provide an essay demonstrating a commitment to community youth programs that provide civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities to young people.
- Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA
Required Documentation:
- Completed application
- Official Transcripts from high school or for each college attended (in sealed envelope)
- Official SAT/ACT scores (in sealed envelope)
- Three (3) work/educational letters of recommendation

Florida Business Clubs Award
Award Amount: $1,000 one time award
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Requirements:
- Awards are made to undergraduate freshman day students planning to enroll in a business program at the Huizenga Business School.
- Students must have graduated within the past year.
- Proof of Business Club Membership (i.e. current membership card or letter from teacher/advisor)
- Students must have attended high school in Florida.
Young Entrepreneurs Council Scholarship
Award Amount: $5,000 one time award (awarded in consecutive semesters)
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Requirements:
- Award is open to undergraduate students (incoming freshman or current student) enrolled or planning to enroll in full time study (12-15 credits) at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship.
- Current student must be in good academic standing with the University.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Minimum High School or College GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Most recent GPA at time of application will be used to determine eligibility.
- Award recipient must maintain GPA of 3.5 to receive full scholarship amount
- Minimum SAT score of 1200 or minimum ACT score of 27 for incoming freshman only.
- Submit official transcript (provided in sealed envelope, otherwise application will be considered incomplete).
- Provide an essay (minimum 500 words) outlining brief personal history, educational/career goals, why applicant should be awarded scholarship. Select and respond to one (1) of the below listed topics.
- Why you view yourself as an entrepreneur and how you intend on achieving goal to become an entrepreneur.
- How you will contribute to your community in the future upon achieving success in business.
- Your views on the importance of government regulation in business and whether it serves or inhibits capitalism and commerce in our society.
- Outline your views on the importance of appropriate business ethics in today's business world.
* Applicant must be author of essay.
- Provide two (2) signed Letters of Recommendation (one professional/business and one educational recommendation).
- Must serve a one (1) year term as Student Leader of Council’s mentorship group. Student Leader will be liaison between mentees and Council.
- Must assist with creation and execution of one (1) event in collaboration with Council members and Office of Development.
- Attend one (1) Council meeting as Student Leader (Council holds quarterly meetings annually).
- Applicant must demonstrate leadership and a strong desire to become an entrepreneur.
- Applicant may be required to attend an interview session with Council Chair and Council member(s) and/or give presentation to Council members.
- Recipient must be available to attend award/scholarship event(s) where applicable.

Graduate Scholarships
Femfessionals "Aspiring Business Leader" Scholarship
Award Amount: $5,000 one time award
Deadline: July 2, 2012
The Femfessionals "Aspiring Business Leader" Scholarship is an annual award offered to a student who demonstrates a desire to improve his/her economic and career opportunities. Giving back to the community is an important goal of Femfessionals and the organization seeks a recipient that is involved in his/her community. The applicant is a graduate student who:
- Values learning and expanding educational horizons
- Envisions and establishes goals for success, personally and professionally
- Possesses a character of resilience
- Demonstrates a passion for life
- Exhibits a great potential for growth and success
Requirements:
- The scholarship will be awarded to a Graduate business student enrolled, or planning to enroll, at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
- Students must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) The most recent GPA will be the one considered for eligibility.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Essay (minimum 500 words) describing a woman who is a prominent world figure and why she inspires you. Include discussion about a woman who is currently in your life and who you admire and aspire to emulate.
- Four (4) signed letters of reference (Two (2) Personal and Two (2) Academic)
- Students must provide written explanation of financial need
- Provide proof of involvement in causes and programs which supports women’s growth, economic development and/or opportunities for women to enhance their careers
- Student must be in good academic standing with the University.

South Florida Interactive Marketing Association (SFIMA) Scholarship
Award Amount: $3,500 one time award
Deadline: July 2, 2012
Requirements:
- Award is open to graduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in full time study at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship.
- Preference will be given to students enrolled in M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship or M.B.A. in Management programs.
- Current student must be in good academic standing with the University.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Most recent GPA at time of application will be used to determine eligibility.
- Submit official transcript (provided in sealed envelope, otherwise application will be considered incomplete).
- Minimum GMAT score of 500 (Graduate Management Admission Test—in sealed envelope, otherwise application will be considered incomplete).
- Provide an essay (400 words) answering following questions:
- How I would benefit from SFIMA Scholarship.
- How I foresee the award as an opportunity to excel in my chosen field of study.
- How I intend to maximize the benefits of this Scholarship.
* Applicant must be author of essay.
- Provide two (2) signed Letters of Recommendation (from a professor, professional contact and/or colleague).
- Recipient will serve a one (1) year term as Student Representative for SFIMA.
- Recipient must assist with event coordination at minimum of two (2) SFIMA events and attend minimum of two (2) SFIMA Board meetings.
- Recipient must be available to attend award/scholarship event where applicable.

Tuition Awards & Other Aid Opportunities
Government Employee Tuition Award
Award Amount: 25% reduction off full tuition rates as published in the student catalog (does not include prerequisites, fees, or other student expenses)

Requirements:
- Awards are made to students currently enrolled in the Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program at the Huizenga School.
- Students must be a city, county, federal, or other U.S. government employee. (Must provide employment verification letter or a photocopy of government ID picture badge.)
- Scholarship is applied to every term.
- No application necessary.
- Award open to international students.
- Please submit information to your Academic Advisor.
- Contact your Academic Advisor for questions regarding this award.
Horatio Alger Huizenga Business School Scholarship
Award Amount: $10,000 one time award - For Undergraduate Students
Deadline: To Be Announced
The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and the Horatio Alger Association have established the Horatio Alger Huizenga Business School Scholarship. Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars will be awarded to ten (10) current Huizenga Business School students enrolled in his or her final two (2) years of study. The scholarship is funded by association member H. Wayne Huizenga to provide financial assistance to students. Members of the Horatio Alger Association are committed to supporting students and believe the scholarship program is an investment in America’s future.
Requirements:
- Attend Nova Southeastern University and be enrolled in the Huizenga Business School;
- Critical financial need, based on the Student Aid Report (SAR);
- Currently be a resident of the State of Florida;
- Demonstrate integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity;
- Academic achievement (minimum cumulative grade point average is 2.0 for consideration); and
- Be a citizen of the United States

- Awards are made to Graduate students enrolled in a business program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship.
- Students must have completed their Bachelor's degree at NSU; must begin a Master's program at the Huizenga School immediately (without skipping a term) upon completion of the Bachelor's degree.
- Must successfully complete at least one course every term for the duration of the Masters degree.
- Must maintain good academic standing in graduate program.
- No application necessary.
- Scholarship is awarded every term.
- Award open to international students.
- Award may not be used in conjunction with any other type of discount.
- Please submit information to your Academic Advisor.

Senorita Strachan Memorial Tuition Award
Award Amount: 50% reduction off published tuition rates (does not include prerequisites, fees, or other student expenses)
Deadline: November 1, 2012
Requirements:
- Awards are made to new students planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate business program at the Huizenga School, BAHAMAS locations ONLY.
- Students must attend Bahamas based campus.
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) from previous higher education institution.
- Must maintain a GPA of 3.5 in order to retain scholarship.
- Must show financial need.
- Must be highly involved with volunteer work and active within the Bahamian community.
- Undergraduate students must also have completed a minimum of 30 credits earned from previous higher education institution.
Strategic Forum Scholarship
Award Amount: $1,500 one time award
Deadline: To Be Announced
Requirements:
- Student must be an active member of Strategic Forum.
- Student must demonstrate leadership and involvement in a club or organization.
- Applicant may be required to attend an interview with Strategic Forum Board.
- Student must demonstrate financial need.
- Award is open to International students.
Jacki Tuckfield Memorial Graduate Business Scholarship Fund
Award Amount: $1,250.00 award (To date, more than $40,000 has been awarded.)
Requirements:
- Must be African-American (students, faculty, and staff)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be a resident of South Florida
- Must be Enrolled in a graduate or doctoral business degree program
- Must have earned 12 or more credit hours (3 of these credits must be earned in the 2011-2012 academic year)
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.1 in the graduate program
- Must pursue professional career in South Florida.
Required Documentation:

- Submit a one-page essay entitled "Why I Should Be Awarded A Jacki Tuckfield Memorial Graduate Business Scholarship"

Huizenga Business School Hosts Jacki Tuckfield Scholarship Awards

On Saturday, March 10, 2012, the 14th Annual Jacki Tuckfield Memorial Graduate Business Scholarship Fund Awards reception was held at the Huizenga Business School’s Executive Conference Center, Sales Institute. The Scholarship Fund awarded 52 recipients from 12 Florida universities with 27 recipients representing the Huizenga Business School. A total of $65,000 in scholarship funds was distributed, each recipient was awarded $1,250. The scholarship is awarded to students in the masters, doctoral programs or related business fields. The scholarship was established to foster intellectual wealth-building, fulfill Jacki’s vision to improve diversity in the executive, administrative and managerial levels of the South Florida workforce. In addition to the awards proceedings, the Huizenga Business School presented Dr. Gloria Tuckfield with a special appreciation plaque recognizing her as a champion of diversity and expressing gratitude for her vision, extraordinary support and lifetime of dedication.

SFIMA Awards first Huizenga Student Scholarship

During the South Florida Interactive Marketing Association (SFIMA)’s Nautical Networking Event on October 21, 2011, Nicole Fraley (left), President of SFIMA, presented a $3,500 check to the first recipient of SFIMA’s Future Digital Leaders Scholarship Fund, Melissa Kweller (center), an MBA candidate at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. Jade Chen (right) of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship was on hand to represent the Huizenga Business School. SFIMA’s 8th Annual Nautical Networking Event, “White Hot on the Yacht,” was presented by BGT and Adobe, and sponsored by ExactTarget. The annual event is Florida’s largest networking cruise for interactive marketers and was held aboard the Biscayne Lady in Hollywood, FL.

The Florida Marlins Community Foundation presented the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship with a scholarship check for $3,000.00 prior to the Marlins’ home game on August 4th. The scholarship will be given to an undergraduate student enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management program at the Huizenga Business School. It is the sixth scholarship the Marlins’ Foundation has granted to an NSU business student.

Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC Offers New Scholarship

The Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC is delighted to announce the Emerald Asset Scholarship for students of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. The scholarship is open to undergraduate students currently pursuing a degree in business. A Five Thousand Dollar ($5,000.00) one time scholarship will be awarded to a student who requires financial assistance and can demonstrate a history of academic excellence.
Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC was formed in 1998 when its founders saw the need to offer clients flexible and adaptive solutions for managing their money. Emerald Asset serves more than 100 families located in the US and abroad. The company’s mission is to provide a practical alternative to traditional asset allocations typically offered to investors on Wall Street; such as creating portfolios which produce benefits from hedge fund investing.

Horatio Alger Association Offers Second Annual Scholarship
|

The Horatio Alger Association is pleased to announce the second offering of the Horatio Alger Huizenga Business School Scholarship for students of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students entering their final two (2) years of study at the Huizenga Business School who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars will be awarded to ten (10) students completing their final two (2) years of study. The scholarships will be awarded to United States citizens who are residents of the State of Florida. The Horatio Alger Huizenga Business School Scholarship is funded by association member H. Wayne Huizenga.
The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans is dedicated to the powerful belief that hard work, honesty and determination can conquer all obstacles. NSU employees & their dependents are not eligible to apply for scholarships
Award funds are applicable for TUITION FEES ONLY, unless otherwise stated per scholarship. Award funds do not cover Registration fees or Student Activity fees.
Scholarship awards are made for FALL and WINTER terms only. Summer term tuition is not covered by scholarships.
Applications must be mailed and complete in order to be considered.
Scholarships, when combined with other tuition restricted awards, may not exceed tuition for the award period. The total of financial assistance awarded to a student from all sources, including scholarships, discounts, third party payments, grants, loans, and federal work study, cannot exceed the student’s financial need and/or the total cost of attendance for the award period. In the event a student's award exceeds these limits, and where applicable based on scholarship specifications, NSU’s Office of Enrollment and Student Services will adjust term award to eliminate any over award.
The Huizenga Business School, the Scholarship Chair and Scholarship Committee reserve the right to modify any financial aid award at any time due to eligibility, policy and administration, or donor wishes.
The Scholarship Chair and Scholarship Committee will make the final determination on all scholarship awards.
