The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship recognizes and honors the academic strengths, leadership roles, community involvement, and skills of its students. We encourage students to achieve new heights in intellectual and personal development and we are committed to rewarding these achievements through many scholarship programs.

NSU employees & their dependents are not eligible to apply for scholarships

Award money is applicable for TUITION fees ONLY, and does not cover Registration fees or Student Activity fees!

Scholarship awards are made for FALL and WINTER terms only for undergraduate students. Summer term tuition is not covered by the scholarship.

Business Ethics/Global Responsibility Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 one time award

Deadline: CLOSED

Requirements:

  • Awards are open to full time DBA students.
  • Students must plan to focus dissertation in ethical/global responsibility.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA.
  • Confirmed status as a Huizenga School doctoral student in the program for a minimum of one year is required.
  • Students must have a GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and plan to do research in a pertinent scholarship area.
  • Willingness to publish work from the dissertation in academic journals and reviews as well as to present the work at academic conferences.

Clarence Pohlman Scholarship

Award Amount: one time award of $3,000

Requirements:
  • Awards are made to any undergraduate student enrolled full time in the Professional and Liberal Studies (Day) program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business in a business related major.
  • Awards are made to students who demonstrate high academic achievement.
  • Applies to U.S. Citizens.
  • Students must have a high school GPA of a 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for an incoming freshman or a current college GPA of a 3.3. The most recent GPA will be the one considered for eligibility
  • Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA.

David Rush Graduate Student Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Awards are made to any Graduate student enrolled full time in the MBA-Entrepreneurship program at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business.
  • Students must be U.S. Citizens
  • Students must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0.
  • Students must remain in good academic standing.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA.

Florida Marlins Community Foundation Scholarship

Award Amount: one time award of $3,000

Deadline: May 1st of each year

Requirements:
  • Awards are open to current students (full time enrollment) in the undergraduate day program at the Huizenga School in the sport and recreation management major.
  • Students will have contributed extensively to the sport and recreation management community through volunteerism and/or work experience.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Recipients must reapply every year.

Government Employee Award

Award Amount: 30% reduction off full tuition rates as published in the student catalog (does not include prerequisites, fees, or other student expenses)

Deadline: OPEN

Requirements:

  • Awards are made to students currently enrolled in the Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program at the Huizenga School.
  • Students must be a city, county, federal, or other U.S. government employee. (Must provide employment verification letter or a photocopy of government ID picture badge.)
  • Scholarship is applied to every term.
  • No application necessary.
  • Award open to international students.
  • Please submit information to your Academic Advisor.
  • Contact your Academic Advisor for questions regarding this award.


H. Wayne Huizenga Scholarship

Award Amount: up to $3,000 per year

Deadline: December 1st, 2009

Requirements:
  • Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled or planning to enroll at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Whichever GPA is most recent (high school or college) at the time of the application is the GPA that will be used to determine eligibility.
  • A minimum SAT score of 1100 or minimum ACT score of 25.
  • A resident of Broward County.
  • Submission of a 500 word essay on why you want to attend the Huizenga School of Business.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals who can evaluate your academic ability and potential.
  • Demonstration of financial need through FAFSA
Required Documentation:
  • Completed Application
  • Copy of high school or previous college transcript
  • 500 word essay
  • 2009-2010 Student Aid Report (SAR) or financial aid award letter
  • 2 recommendation letters


J.W. Customer Value Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 one time award

Requirements:

  • Awards are made to full time DBA students.
  • Students must plan to focus dissertation in customer value.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need through FAFSA.
  • Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Students must plan to do dissertation research in academic trade journal in addition to leading conference proceedings.


Strategic Forum Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Awards are made to all MBA students.
  • Students must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25 and demonstrate leadership involvement in a club or organization.
  • Students must demonstrate financial need.
  • Award open to International students.
