AIBTThe AIBT was established in 1976 to represent the International Banks and Trust Companies operating from The Bahamas. The Association is funded by its members and works with them to promote professional standards in the industry and continued success and understanding of the banking sector.

The Association is funded by its members and works with them to promote professional standards in the industry and continued success and understanding of the banking sector. Benefits of membership in The Association of International Banks and Trust Companies in The Bahamas, include: providing a channel of communication to Government, Regulatory Authorities and Media; promoting high standards in the Industry (through code of conduct); providing the Banking Industry with a Forum to debate issues as they arise; sponsorship of new legislation and amendments; assisting Regulators with drafting and introduction of new guidelines as necessary; sponsorship of education initiatives including provision of speakers; a contact point for visitors to the jurisdiction through office and web site; and support activities of other professional associations.
