Mr. Smith obtained his first taste of franchising when he was in high school. Six years later, he started what has become his 30-year career in service franchising. Mr. Smith joined PuroSystems, Inc. in Albany, New York, as a Field Consultant in January 1994. His accomplishments with PuroSystems include franchise operations from 1994-2001, General Manager from 2001-2002 and most recently Vice President of Franchise Development. After many years of field sales success, he was selected by PuroSystems to head franchise recruitment. He has been in his current position since 2002 and has established a track record as the company problem-solver, increased significantly franchise sales activity as well as restructured the sales organization. Always dedicated to process, Monty has been quick to insist on sales processes as the center piece of franchise sales in his current position. With a limited franchise offering, Monty led PuroSystems through the start up of a new franchise label in 2002, reviving sales and increasing the franchise network by 42% in only two years. Mr. Smith has been in the restoration business since 1976.
A graduate of Freedom University with a B.S. in Education, Smith is also a Certified Restorer and Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) with the International Franchise Association (IFA). He has also completed a Mini-Master in Franchising with Nova University in Davie, Florida.
Monty has been married to Pamela for 34 years, and they have four children and three grandchildren. A second generation of Smiths has entered into franchising with his youngest son, Nathan, purchasing a PuroClean Franchise in 2005.
