International Society of Franchising
The H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University is the headquarters of the International Society of Franchising (ISoF), an organization of multidisciplinary, multinational members, primarily university professors and professionals, who look at franchising through practical research. For over 23 years the Society has accumulated and disseminated information on international franchising, systems structure, franchisor/franchisee relationships, hospitality management, entrepreneurship and other special topics including legal research. The Society provides a mechanism for professors who are interested in franchising to discuss relevant teaching and research methodologies. There are over 555 research papers on franchising. Please refer to Directory of ISoF Papers for a listing of all papers and instructions on how to order them.
Each year the Society receives many requests from individuals who want to become or who want to maintain their academic membership in the Society. Many other individuals, i.e. attorneys, accountants, consultants, franchisees and franchisors also want to affiliate with the Society. The Society has members from 26 countries including: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Cypress, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Indonesia, Korea, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Board of Directors of the International Society of Franchising has established the following membership categories: ISoF Academic Membership and ISoF Affiliate Membership. Please refer to this information to learn how you can become a member of the ISoF.
