Retirement Financial Analyst ProgramIf you have three or more years of experience as a financial advisor, earning the Retirement Management Analyst (RMA) credential would demonstrate to your clients and business partners that you have mastered the retirement planning advisory process. Based on the RMA Body of Knowledge, this program focuses on the skills and tools needed to assist clients with investment accumulation, and more importantly, income protection and distribution throughout the retirement years.

Program Description

Key concepts and practical application of retirement income planning and management are taught so that attendees can better construct portfolios to support retirement income and distribution. The course is designed around the seven chapters in The Retirement Management Analyst (RMA) Designation: Curriculum Book for RMA Candidates:

  • Chapter One: The Hub at the Center of the Advisory Process – The Client
  • Chapter Two through Six: The Five Spokes
  • Chapter Seven: The Integrative Process

Requirements to sit for the RMA exam:

Candidates for the RMA examination are accepted on the basis of prior education, experience, and ethics requirements. The RMA designation is an advanced designation focused specifically on the issues of retirement income planning and retirement management. It is assumed that candidates already have a solid understanding of basic retirement planning and investment principles.

RMA candidates have demonstrated knowledge and experience in their practical application. We would look for at least three (3) or more year of experience as a financial advisor working with clients on retirement and non-retirement portfolios, or comparable experience in the financial services industry directly involved in the retirement and investments business. Holding various FINRA registrations, e.g. series 7, 24, 63, 65, or 66, as well as other designations, e.g. CFA, CFP, will all be considered as evidence of prerequisite knowledge. Check the Investments & Wealth Institute's website for more information: https://investmentsandwealth.org/rma

RMA candidates are required to:

Complete the RMA application and certify that the information in the application is accurate, agree to the Investments & Wealth Institute Code of Professional Responsibility and that they have not been fined or sanctioned from practicing in the financial services field by any state or federal government or regulatory authority, or by any industry self-regulatory body or by any employer.

Testing:

If interested in the RMA designation, you may take the exam at the end of this program. Please register for the exam and pay the $395 exam fee by visiting the Investments & Wealth Institute's website at: https://investmentsandwealth.org/rma
