Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Participants will understand the integrated Lean Six Sigma process (LSS), the power of Lean Thinking, and how LSS links with organizational goals.


Certification as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt:

Upon successful completion of all requirements for this course, participants will receive a certificate stating that he/she is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. To fulfill the requirements of the course and earn a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, participants are expected to do the following:

  1. Attend all class sessions
  2. If any session is missed, complete assigned make-up work
  3. Take the exam
  4. Prepare a Project Closure Report

Program Description

Prerequisite: Yellow Belt or equivalent Six Sigma Training

The Body of Knowledge for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Green Belt exam is covered in this program, including a comprehensive ‘build-your-own-exam’ of 100 questions to ensure competency.

Course Requirements:

  • For every hour of classroom time, participants should expect to spend an hour or two outside of the classroom working in a group on a case study and reading the course material.
  • Attendance at the first weekend session is mandatory as it sets the foundation for the course.
  • If any other class is missed, make-up work will be assigned by the instructor.
  • Case study group work will continue after the last scheduled class session.
  • Participants can expect to complete all course work approximately one month after the last class.
  • It is strongly recommended that the SigmaXL software program be purchased by each participant. The cost is approximately $60. More information will be given during the first weekend of class.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able to apply:

  • The core methodologies of Lean Six Sigma, including the basic 12 tools for improvement and Lean workplace improvement and implementation methods
  • Methods and tools for planning and managing projects
  • Tollgate processes for conducting project reviews
  • The rich array of methods for developing an imaginative understanding of the Voice of the Customer using CTQs and SIPOC validation techniques
  • Methods for translating the Voice of the Customer into the Voice of the Business
  • Methods for measuring and analyzing the current state, including Measurement System Analysis, Process Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Methods for calculating the Cost of (Poor) Quality and Lean Sigma levels
  • Methods for improving and controlling the process and promoting out-of-box thinking and continuous improvement
  • Some intermediate methods and tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Measurement System Analysis, PG-13 version of Design of Experiments, using Stat-a-Pult to improve performance of services

Audience

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is designed for people who will perform or facilitate process analysis and improvement activities. It is appropriate for personnel from all levels and all areas of the organization.

Early Registration

Prior to March 22, 2013 fee of $2,875 includes tuition, instructional materials, textbooks, and lunch.
PLEASE NOTE: All payments are due in full by March 22.

Late Registration

On March 22 and up to the day before the program begins, fee of $2,905 includes tuition, instructional materials, textbooks, and lunch.
PLEASE NOTE: All late registrations will be automatically charged the $30 Late Fee with total amount of the program fee due upon registration

Instructors

Chris Voehl, Master Black Belt

Chris attained certification as Master Black Belt – Lean Six Sigma in 2006 and began teaching Lean Six Sigma programs at Nova University in 2009. Chris was Project Manager and Master Black Belt for the training and deployment of Lean Six Sigma at ChildNet, leading to dynamic teambuilding and breakthrough results - as of April 2012, ChildNet was the #1 Community Based Care agency in the State of Florida!

His career is highlighted by 20 years of experience in the professional services arena, with 15 years of technical experience spanning multiple disciplines including Call Center Management, IT Project Management, Business Process Improvement, Systems Analysis / Training, and Software Configuration Management (SCM) Agile systems integration.

Dr. Hal Wiggin, Master Black Belt

Hal Wiggin has been involved in government and agency organizational and process improvement activities for over 30 years. He was Director of Planning and Quality Improvement for the Broward Children's Services Council and Regional Manager of Performance and Planning for the Florida Department of Children and Families. Hal started his career as a mental health counselor and school psychologist before completing a doctoral program in educational leadership. He is a planner, trainer, and quality improvement professional. Besides Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Hal has specific expertise in strategic planning, measurement systems, situational leadership, coaching, and group facilitation. He is currently helping Nova Southeastern University develop and implement a new LSS program.

Course Customization

Using core programs, we can customize the material to fit your corporate training needs. With our extensive resources and program facilitators, we will design a program that is tailored to fit your specified objectives and requirements.


Substitution, Cancellation, Fee and Transfer Policies

We realize that occasionally you need to cancel your registration. You can substitute another individual in your place at any time prior to the first day of a program.

If you wish to receive a credit toward a future program: we will allow you to transfer you registration to a future date of the same program you are enrolled in currently, provided we receive written notice two weeks prior to the start date of the class you are currently registered in. You are permitted to re-register only one time.

If you wish to receive a refund: written cancellations received 30 calendar days before a program begins will be issued a full refund, less a $150.00 processing fee; written cancellations received 6 to 29 calendar days prior to the start of a program will get 50 percent of the registration fee refunded. We apologize but we cannot provide a refund if we receive your written cancellation in five or fewer business days prior to the start of the program.

In the event of non-payment, the responsibility for any fees incurred in collecting the payment is the responsibility of the customer.
