H. Wayne Huizenga School faculty is active practitioners in their disciplinary areas. You will find popular text and business books authored by them. You will meet our faculty as presenters at national conferences and workshops. Most importantly, you will find them actively engaged in the classroom with their students. Whether you are challenged by the dialogue in our seminars or engaged in research, our faculty members exemplify the best in doctoral education.
Dr. Rebecca Abraham's influence upon our finance major and the students who pursue this degree program has been profound. An active researcher, she presently has two manuscripts in preparation and has published more than two dozen referred journal articles in investment and industrial/organizational psychology.
In addition to her research interests, Dr. Abraham has been recognized for her excellence in teaching. She is a member of the Board of the Academy of Finance and works closely with local high school and junior college students who express interest in finance.
Dr. Abratt brings international expertise to marketing. He has worked as a marketing strategy consultant in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, China, Australia, the U.K., and the United States. He has served as a visiting professor at leading business schools in the United States, Australia, and the U.K..
As author or co-author of three leading books in Marketing and Sales Management, Dr. Abratt encourages his students to understand and design marketing strategies. The recipient of a number of distinguished teaching awards, Dr. Abratt combines his marketing insight with his passion for excellence creating a classroom environment that is challenging and stimulating.
Dr. Baek teaches MBA and DBA courses in corporate finance and international finance. His research interests include international corporate finance, agency theory, management compensation, foreign exchange, and foreign direct investment.
Dr. Baek's Ph.D. was awarded by the University of South Carolina. He is the recipient of Best Paper in Corporate Finance from the Midwest Financial Association. In addition, he has been awarded NAFSA and Title III grants to support his research interests.
Dr. Barnes has been teaching graduate level courses at the H. Wayne Huizenga School since May 1997. In the Doctoral program he teaches Strategic Decision Making and Organizational Behavior. In the M.B.A. program he teaches courses in leadership as well as Entrepreneurial and Strategic Thinking.
Dr. Barnes creates a community of learning in each of his classes. He takes great pride in his responsiveness to students and in the continual improvement of his teaching. It is his goal to extend the leadership capabilities of each of his students. If you excel in active learning environments, you will find Dr. Barnes' courses exceed your expectations.
Learn from a 25-year veteran of the corporate world. Dr. Barry is experienced in industrial, government and commercial marketing. He has served as a marketing executive for several Fortune 500 companies, including GE, BFGoodrich, Gould and AT&T. He brings his corporate experience into the classroom, teaching courses in marketing communications, salesmanship, internet marketing and international marketing.
Dr. Barry’s research in business-to-business (B2B) relationship marketing has been presented at several American Marketing Association (AMA) and Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) Educator Conferences.
Dr. Bendixen, Ph.D. is professor of Research Methodology and Chair of Research Methods and Statistics at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Nova Southeastern University. Before joining NSU in 2004, he was professor at the Wits Business School, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa where he held positions as Assistant Dean (Research). Dr. Bendixen has extensive experience at supervising dissertations at both masters and doctoral level as well as teaching research methodology, statistics and business forecasting. His current research interests are in the field of organizational culture and corporate governance.
Dr. Bendixen is an experienced consultant in the practical application of quantitative techniques, particularly in the service industries.
Professor Cavico teaches Business Law and Ethics at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. A recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award, he has numerous articles in law review publications.
Professor Cavio is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Texas. He has worked as a federal government regulatory attorney and as counsel for a labor union. Professor Cavico is a principle instructor in "The Values of Legality, Morality, and Social Responsibility in Business" course required of M.B.A. students.
Stepping into one of Dr. Chandra's international business classes is literally like stepping into another world. Dr. Chandra's experience of working in three different countries allows him to bring a diverse, international ambiance to his classes.
A native of India, Dr. Chandra has served as an Associate Professor of International Business at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship since 2006. He received his Ph.D. in International Business and Marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Dr. Cho received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business, where he has taken courses from several Nobel laureates. He also has an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago and an MSc in Economics degree from the London School of Economics.
His current research interests are in the areas of investments, credit markets, and financial econometrics. He has published in Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Empirical Finance, Economic Modelling, Psychological Science and American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Chairperson of the International Business Program, Dr. Clarke was awarded her Ph.D. in Strategic Management by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her research focus is on uncertainty and risk in the international environment, entrepreneurship and ethics in comparative international settings, and international market entry. She currently serves as a Director of Windstar Technologies, Boston, Massachusetts.
Born in the United Kingdom, Dr. Clarke has extensive international travel and work experience. She incorporates those experiences into her classroom and research activities.
Dr. Charles Collver is Assistant Professor of Finance at the Nova Southeastern University School of Business and Entrepreneurship. In the MBA program, he has taught Economic Thinking and Applying Managerial Finance. He is currently lead faculty for the Principles of Finance and Applying Managerial Finance courses at SBE.
Dr. Barbara Dastoor is an Associate Professor of Management Science in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University
One of the many advantages associated with our undergraduate business program is the opportunity to interact with faculty who teach at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Dr. Jane Gibson is among those faculty who excel in instruction at both levels. She is a recipient of our Faculty of the Year Award (2001) and has served as Director of Undergraduate Business Programs.
Dr. Gibson's current research interests are in the fields of leadership and online education. She has authored or coauthored four books and over 100 articles. Dr. Gibson is affiliated with the Center for Leadership Studies and is a Certified Situational Leadership Trainer.
Regina A. Greenwood is Professor of Management in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. Before joining the faculty at NSU in 2007, she was Associate Professor of Management at Kettering University in Michigan.
Dr. Griffin is Professor of Operations Management at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Nova Southeastern University.
Before joining NSU in 2007, he was professor at Indiana Wesleyan University where he held positions as Academic Dean of the College of Adult and Professional Studies and taught in the Doctorate in Organizational Leadership Program.
Take a class from Dr. Joung W. Kim and you'll experience various components of accounting, such as financial reporting, valuations, and accounting information systems. A recent addition to the faculty at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Kim currently serves as an Associate Professor of Accounting.
He received his Ph.D. from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. His research activities encompass corporate disclosure strategies, firm valuation in capital markets, and information system management.
Director of the Masters of Accounting Program, Dr. Moore brings excitement and commitment to his research and the classroom. He teaches accounting theory, advanced managerial accounting, accounting information systems, and auditing. Students are in agreement that the Huizenga School experience isn't complete without a course taught by Dr. Moore.
Dr. Moore has published in numerous academic and practitioner journals. He continues to work with small companies to facilitate the achievement of ISO 9000 certification.
Dr. Bahaudin Mujtaba is an Assistant Professor of International Management and Human Resources at the Huizenga School. Bahaudin had originally joined Nova Southeastern University in 1996 as an Adjunct Professor of Management and Human Resources at the Graduate Business Programs for the Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining NSU on full-time basis, Bahaudin was Campus College Chair for the College of Graduate Business and Management at the University of Phoenix - Tampa Campus. Bahaudin has worked as an internal consultant, trainer, and teacher at the Education and Training Development Department of Human Resources with Publix Super Markets Inc. for six years. He also worked with Publix in retail management for ten years. In his capacity as a consultant and trainer, Bahaudin has worked with various firms in the areas of management, cross-cultural communication, customer value/service, and diversity training.
Dr. Pellet teaches at both the undergraduate and graduate level. His research interests include the area of Applied Economics. A brief review of his numerous publications and presentations reveals his expertise in multi-national and global socio-economic models.
Dr. Pellet's students receive the important benefit of his international business and educational experiences. Students are encouraged to view both challenges and solutions from a multi-cultural perspective.
A Renaissance man, Dr. Pinkowski holds a 100-ton Master's License from the U.S. Coast Guard. He is also an accomplished professional photographer. He is a member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), the American Political Science Association (APSA), the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), and the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management (ABFM).
Dr. Pinkowski is celebrated for his ability to combine real-world experience with academic credentials that enhance the courses he teaches and programs he supervises. His research interests include various issues in public finance, economic development, globalization, international economic and organizational impacts of the Internet, the evolution of e-commerce and its impacts of state and local government finance, and other issues of public policy.
To best teach and train working adults, you need experience. Very few professionals are as experienced in this arena as Robert Preziosi. Dr. Preziosi has been teaching and training adults since the 1960s. He serves as chair for the Master of Science Program in Human Resource Management and he is the originator of the Doctoral Program in Human Resource Management. He has been recognized as Professor of the Decade, has been a recipient of the Torch Award (the highest leadership award of the American Society for Training and Development), and has been named HRD Professional of the Year.
Bob's expertise in training and development has resulted in interviews for Fortune, Meeting Management, Savings Institutions, The Miami Herald, and The Sun Sentinel. You will find his publications in journals such as Training and Development, The Teaching Professor, and Quality Review. He has been a national seminar leader for the American Management Association and Dun & Bradstreet. Widely published, his most recent publications include "How to Energize Your Leadership" and "How to be a World Class Facilitator of Learning."
Assistant Professor of Accounting, Dr. Rentfro has been recognized for his excellence in teaching and was named Accounting Professor of the Year by the Accounting Students Association three times.
Before tackling higher education, Dr. Rentfro climbed the corporate ladder while serving in a variety of accounting positions with Caterpillar, Inc. and Decatur Memorial Hospital Healthcare System. Prior to coming to South Florida, Dr. Rentfro was on the faculty of Millikin University in Decatur, IL, where he co-chaired the University’s strategic planning process and served as the University’s first Director of Institutional Research and Assessment.
Dr. Cynthia Ruppel is an Associate Professor of Information Technology in the Decision Sciences Department of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining NSU, Dr. Ruppel taught at The University of Toledo, Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College and The University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels including executive education.
Professor of accounting, auditing, and information systems at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Sennetti also serves as an expert witness in the use of statistical and accounting evidence. Inspired by his students and their accomplishments, you will find Dr. Sennetti closely working with students both inside and outside of the classroom.
Recent articles have appeared in the Journal of Forensic Accounting and in Research on Professional Responsibility and Ethics in Accounting. He is a recognized national and international speaker and often invites students to participate in regional and national meetings.
A graduate of McGill University (Montreal, Canada), Dr. Seyoum joined the Huizenga School in 1991. He teaches a variety of courses in international business and economics.
Dr. Seyoum is the author of four books and numerous professional publications. His current research interests include high technology trade and global e-commerce.
Recognized nationally for expertise within business ethics, Dr. Sims helps beginning researchers learn to make independent decisions to properly analyze and interpret social science data. Responsible for teaching research methodology, business ethics, and organizational behavior, Dr. Sims encourages her students to challenge themselves and their organizations to seek effective and ethical solutions to pressing concerns.
Assistant Professor of Economics; Ph.D., University of Georgia. Managerial economics, statistics, monetary policy, and corporate finance.
Internationally recognized for his work in market definition and segmentation, Dr. Weinstein teaches a variety of graduate marketing courses and executive seminars.
Author of six books and more than 60 scholarly articles and papers, Dr. Weinstein introduces his students to the latest in market definition and segmentation.
Dr. Pan G. Yatrakis is a Professor of Finance and Economics at the NSU Wayne Huizenga Graduate School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He has been with NSU SB&E as an adjunct professor since 1993, and as a full-time faculty member since July, 1996. Dr. Yatrakis teaches Economics, Finance, and International Business at both the Master's and Doctoral levels. He chairs several doctoral dissertation committees, and his current research interests are in the areas of efficient markets and behavioral finance. He has had numerous publications and presentations at academic conferences.
Dr. Yatrakis was Chief Economist of the Xerox Corporation from 1973 to 1982, and Senior Partner of The Center for Economic Analysis between 1982 and 1990. He has taught at New York University's Stern School of Business Administration, Seton Hall University, Sacred Heart University, and the University of Bridgeport. Dr. Yatrakis is active in the field of economic consulting, primarily in forensic economics and litigation support. He has served as an expert witness in numerous cases involving economic damages.
