The Carl DeSantis Building is home to the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship’s
undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs. Its state-of-the-art amenities provide our students with
a comfortable, professional, contemporary and functional academic environment.
The DeSantis Building offers business students a quality atmosphere designed to make their educational
experience both fulfilling and enjoyable. The 261,000 square foot, 5 story facility is built around the
Dr. William S. Spears 3 story courtyard atrium, which is enclosed in a glass ceiling. Its design includes
wireless connectivity for students, general-purpose classrooms, compressed video/teleconferencing classrooms,
a lecture theater, computer labs, multi-purpose facilities, conference facilities, business services/copy
center, and administrative and student offices with support facilities. Other components include an Information
Technology Center, web stations and breakout meeting areas for students. Our Einstein Bros. Bagels
and Freshens Smoothie Bar complete the building’s amenities, allowing students to re-fuel with a variety of
food and beverage options.
A key component of the $33 million Carl DeSantis Building's design is its 2,000 square foot grand entrance,
which is surrounded by columns and glass walls. The grand entrance’s two-story domed ceiling houses the Huizenga
School's August and Melba Urbanek Entrepreneur Hall of Fame, of which H. Wayne Huizenga and Carl DeSantis are
both members. It also features two four-by-six-foot acrylic murals honoring the careers of Mr. Huizenga and
Mr. DeSantis.
The Carl DeSantis Building also houses the Huizenga School’s Hudson Institute of Entrepreneurship and Executive
Education, the International Institute for Franchise Education, and NSU's Graduate School of Computer and
Information Sciences.
