I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Sets forth, explains, illustrates, and applies fundamental principles of business law to modern day business problems. Important subject matters covered are introduction to the legal system, constitutional law as applied to business, contract law and sales law, agency and employment law, types of business organizations, and torts and products liability law. Credit cannot be obtained for both this course and LEGS 3400.

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
1) To understand the legal and social environment of business, particularly how the Constitution can govern business transactions. 2) To understand the nature and elements of a contract and the classes of contracts. 3) To understand the discharge of contractual obligations and remedies for breach of contract. 4) To comprehend the nature and form of sales and how sales law pursuant to the Uniform Commercial Code modifies contract law. 5) To understand warranties and other product liability legal doctrines, especially strict liability. 6) To understand the remedies for breach of contracts and breach of warranties. 7) To understand the basic principles of agency and employment law. 8) To comprehend the concept of a tort and how tort law applies to business.
