ACT 2200 - Financial Accounting


I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Provides an introduction to financial accounting and its decision-making elements. Areas covered are the conceptual frameworks of accounting, financial statements and their components, and advance manufacturing environments. Prerequisite: MATH 1030 or higher.

II. PREREQUISITES
( MATH 1030 OR MATH 1040 )

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
1)        Describe the role that financial reporting plays in decisions made by investors, creditors, and other users of financial statements.
2)        Explain the presentation of information in each of the four financial statements issued by corporations.
3)        Explain the major concepts and principles underlying the preparation of financial statements.
4)        Indicate how basic operating, financing, and investing transactions affect the balance sheet equation.
5)        Properly use information in the financial statements to make investment and credit decisions.
