I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Studies the operation in commercial banks, savings and loan associations, and saving banks. Topics include loans, mortgages, bonds, investments, trusts, marketing, and auditing. Discusses the impact of federal and state regulations on financial institutions. Prerequisite: FIN 3010

4)        The sources and uses of bank funds and the risks of banking.
5)        The accounting and economic models of bank performance and valuation.

7)        The management of value and risk in bank strategic planning.
8)        The components of risk management including asset-liability management and interest-rate risk.
9)        Capitol and dividend management policies.
10)        Traditional and modern methods of managing credit risk.
11)        Consumer and business lending.
12)        The management of liquidity risk and liability management.
13)        The concepts of net noninterest income, operational risk, securitization and derivatives financing.
14)        The globalization of banking.
15)        Risk regulation, deposit insurance, and ethical considerations in the financial-services industry.
