OPS 3880 - Operations Management


I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
A problem-oriented course in production and operations management. Topics include inventory control, production control, quality control, services management, and facilities management and control. Prerequisite: MATH 3020.

II. PREREQUISITES
( MATH 3020 OR MATH 3020H )

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
1)        Recognize the interaction of organizational factors and business environment in effecting operational strategy, tactics, and competitiveness.
2)        Understand current concepts and developments in the field of operations management as they apply to both manufacturing and service industries.
3)        Be capable of defining operational problem situations; identify the criterion for effective resolution, and applying relevant methods of analysis.
4)        Be proficient in using Internet technology to aid decision making in the field of operations management.
