MGT 4880 - Business Strategy and Policy


I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
An integrative senior-year course in which the disciplines of management, finance, behavioral sciences, and marketing focus on the solution of business problems. Case studies will be employed in this course. Prerequisite: Senior-level standing, FIN 3010 and MKT 3050 or SPT 3550 and SPT 3650.

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
1) The Business and Administrative Studies Division faculty is committed to ensuring that our students learn that ethical issues are relevant in every business field. We convey this message to our students by integrating the study of ethics throughout the undergraduate business curriculum. This course has been designated as one that highlights the relevance of business ethics.
2) Cases will be employed throughout this course
a) to evaluate the value of ethical decision-making in a corporate environment and
b) assess the financial impact of ethical decisions. AU such cases to be used for class discussion are asterisked in this outline and may be found in the text. Company profiles will be provided by the instructor and updated regularly to maintain currency.
3) The students will be introduced to the tools of strategic management, and the use of these tools in the analysis and solution of specific business problems. The use of the case study and analysis method will encourage and improve the leadership abilities of the student as well as synthesize his or her acquired knowledge in different disciplines of business.
