II. PREREQUISITES
Not required

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Entrance Competencies:

1) Students are expected to correctly solve arithmetic and college algebra problems with paper and pencil alone.
2) Students must be able to download and post documents in the discussion area and as e-mail attachments.

Exit Competencies:

Through this course and upon its completion, students will:

1) Define and use statistical terminology and notation to solve problems.
2) Identify characteristics of a problem to which quantitative techniques are applicable.
3) Identify appropriate techniques for the graphical representation of data.
4) Use statistical methods to get measures of central tendency and dispersion for a sample.
5) Define and explain measures of central tendency and dispersion for grouped and ungrouped data.
6) Solve problems using the binomial, Poisson, normal, uniform and exponential distributions.
7) Describe the implications of the central limit theorem for sampling distributions.
