I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will gain an understanding of the meaning and importance of the law, ethics, personal morality, and corporate social responsibility. They will exhibit moral, ethical, and socially responsible behavior, and will be able to analyze business decisions from a legal, ethical, and social responsibility perspective.

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
1) Educate the student as to the scope and variety of laws regulating business; inculcate the student with significant philosophical theories and fundamental ethical principles; and to expose the students to the concept of social responsibility. 2) Foster a consideration and integration of legal, moral, and social values relevant to the student's business decision-making process. 3) Provide students with an ethical framework and training to resolve moral issues as well as to ascertain whether the law itself is just. 4) Enhance the students' awareness of the many societal and cultural influences on business. 5) Foster the character development and social consciousness of the student by imparting a greater concern for the legal, moral, and social values of business decision-making. 6) Create an atmosphere where students perceive the field of business management as an integral, dignified, socially useful, and value-enhancing part of a prosperous and just society. Entrance Competencies This course assumes: 1) A modest background in law, government, legal and governmental institutions, and the legal nature of business entities. 2) And that the students come to class with basic moral standards, beliefs, and values; and that the students approximately share these basic values. Exit Competencies Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1) Possess a deeper knowledge of the value theory of management, law, ethics as a branch of philosophy, and the meaning of social responsibility. 2) Comprehend better the legal, moral, and social values in business decision-making. 3) Understand the relationship, as well as the distinction, among law, ethics, and social responsibility. 4) Know how to apply legal, ethical, and social principles and rules to solve business problems. 5) Be cognizant of the major moral issues confronting business today; and the qualities of moral companies and moral managers. 6) Recognize that various disciplines can be integrated to solve problems. 7) And utilize case studies and deductive and inductive problem solving techniques more efficaciously.
