Thesis Guidelines:The student develops a theoretical model, supported by an in-depth literature search, which promulgates research hypotheses or research questions. These are examined empirically by the student, through primary quantitative or qualitative research methods.
The faculty seeks to learn how the student integrates and applies the concepts and tools of the program curriculum to the workplace. Faculty seek to measure exploratory skills, and to measure the candidate's ability to do graduate level research. The M.B.A. student must deal with broad issues and general business concepts, within which the student has identified a specific research problem, within the workplace. Students who are not employed may, with permission of the program director, substitute a subject organization, providing they can show access to data gathering in this organization.
The research is written about experiences in professional organizations, properly documented as to source and time, supported by library research. The thesis should conclude with a specific implementation section, which can be evaluated by faculty review.
