HRM 5381 - Special Topics in Human Resource Management


I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
Topics include Quality of Work Life; Second-Career Decision and Midlife Change; Conflict Management/Team Management; Incentive Systems and Incentive Contracting; and Management Education and Training. Prerequisite: HRMP 5200 or equivalent.

II. PREREQUISITES
( GMPF 5200 OR HRMP 5200 OR GMP 5030 OR HRM 5030 OR MGMT 4160 OR HRM 4160 )

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students should be familiar with the following before they take this course:

1) The general field of HRM
2) HRM Policies and practices which add value

Exit Competencies

1) Use of current HRM literature to revise HRM practices.
2) Identification of multiple sources for HRM literature.
3) Use of peer learning as a high performance learning option.
4) Discuss multiple options for assessing the utility HRM literature.
5) Write reviews of articles found in HRM literature.
6) Differentiate between long term and short term of HRM literature.
