I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course allows students to improve their leadership skills by examining and applying the Situational Leadership Model taught by a team which includes Dr. Paul Hersey, a developer of the model. Students will have the opportunity to practice applying the model and to improve their skills for diagnosing performance readiness of followers and communicating the appropriate leadership style. The course uses an interactive format and includes case studies, group projects, and role plays. It is only offered in a four day, on-campus intensive format. Prerequisites: LED 5660.

III. LEARNING OUTCOMES
LED 5695 is designed so that at its completion, students will be able to:1. ARTICULATE a personal and/or professional philosophy regarding the use Leadership theory practices in workplace environments; 2. COMMUNICATE verbally or in writing about current trends and future directions of Leadership; 3. APPLY a working knowledge of personality, perception, and values in Leadership situations from a leader or manager perspective; 4. IMPLEMENT appropriate leadership techniques in the workplace as a leader or a follower; 5. ROLE MODEL effective interpersonal and organizational communication techniques and processes as a leader or manager; 6. RECOGNIZE the challenges and opportunities for the application of change dynamics within organizations.
