Young Entrepreneurs Council

To promote the further development of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University, the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship Board of Governors hereby establishes and creates a Young Entrepreneurs Council, subject to the ultimate policy-making function of the Board of Trustees of Nova Southeastern University.

Mission Statement

To enhance the visibility of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship and to support the activities of the Dean, faculty, and students by providing direct connections to the South Florida business community.

  • Anthony R. Contrucci has joined the Council as a member. An entrepreneur and financier, Contrucci is Managing Director of Praetorian Value Fund, LLC. He leverages his global experience to create synergy, finding opportunities for businesses and individuals throughout the globe. He also manages a multimillion dollar residential real estate portfolio, actively managing purchases, sales, and rentals of residential real estate. He received his B.S. in Finance from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts, and his Masters of Business Administration from NSU's H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship. He is a member of the distinguished professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi and is proficient in Italian and basic Spanish.

  • Nathaniel D. Pool has joined the Council as a member. He is Founder and CEO, Hackseed Inc. A visionary and results-oriented CEO/President, Pool has an unparalleled background in starting, building, and driving multimillion-dollar, high-tech companies to significant success. Involved in the Internet space since 1993, he has more than 20 years experience in the satellite communications, cable TV and mortgage banking industries. A startup and turn-around expert with a track record for hiring and retaining excellent people, he is currently interested in C-level management and investment opportunities within web-based/Internet services space (i.e. social-networking, GPS, unified communications and mobility, collaborative software solutions). Pool received his BS Business Management/Finance from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

  • YEC member Lee Feldman Speaks at DECA event

    On November 13, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) students from J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs, FL., hosted Lee Feldman as a keynote speaker for an event titled “Entrepreneurship for Everyone.” Feldman spoke to more than 200 students about launching Pops Corn, now located in several locations across South Florida and also online. He talked about his entrepreneurial successes, challenges and opportunities associated with starting a business. The event was created to inspire students to consider entrepreneurship as a career possibility.

  • Jane F. Bolin has joined the Young Entrepreneurs Council as a member. Jane is a Partner with PeytonBolin, PL. The firm practices condo/HOA law, consumer protection, and commercial litigation. The firm strives to maintain excellent client communication during the legal process and consistently evaluates and implements new technologies that provide more efficient case information access. Jane received her Juris Doctorate from St. Thomas University in Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice in the Southern District of Florida.

  • Terri Braun, Founder and President of Kidokinetics, provider of fitness programs for children recently established the first Kidokinetics franchise operation in Dallas, TX. Franchisee Scott Bradley was looking for a new business venture when he came across an article about Kidokinetics in USA Today. After visiting Kidokinetics in Florida, he returned to Dallas and found that many schools were looking for ways to combat the state’s childhood obesity problem. Terri joined the Young Entrepreneurs Council in 2007.

  • Mr. Steven W. Hudson—President of Hudson Capital Group:  “Trinity Yachts LLC expands its services and announces the recent acquisition of International Yacht Collection. This acquisition will expand Trinity’s capabilities and enable it to offer its clients the entire range of yachting services: new construction, repairs, brokerage, charter management, retail charter, yacht management, and crew placement.”

  • Mr. Robert A. Isbitts, President and Chief Investment Officer of Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC published his book in 2006, titled “Wall Street’s Bull and How to Bear It” a guide for investors who seek to cut through the hype to get what they want from their wealth. Mr. Isbitts was selected as one of the Top Wealth Advisors in the United States by being named to the Worth 100 List of the Top Wealth Managers in the US by Worth Magazine for 2005, 2006, and 2007. Emerald Asset Advisors is one of 50 advisors nationally, and three in the state of Florida, that have accomplished this “three-peat”. He is the only Broward-based Wealth Manager to make that exclusive list any of the past three years.

  • ReStockIt.com was presented with the “2008 Business of the Year Award” by the South Florida Business Journal in the Technology/Biotechnology of $10 Million category, April 2008.

    ReStockIt.com's Matt Kuttler & David Redlich were named co-finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2007 Award in the State of Florida in the Manufacturing & Distribution Category. The awards program was designed to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses.

  • Mr. David A. Lopez, Founder and President of Froots Franchising, Inc., was listed in the Franchise Times, May 2008, on the “Fast 55” list of franchises on the ‘fast track’.

  • Kenneth D. Rader, President and CEO of The Cereal Bowl, and co-founders Michael Glassman and Josh Rader were named by Florida Magazine to its 2008 “Power Players” list, which is made up of 100 Florida headliners, innovators, and dealmakers. The Cereal Bowl is scheduled to open two new locations in 2008, on Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, and another across from Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C. Kenneth is a new member of the Young Entrepreneurs Council.

  • Mr. Earl T. Shannon—CEO of P Swiss, Inc. announced the newly formed company has acquired the assets and the "P" logo trademark of Aurafin's former luxury watch brand, Pippo Italia. P SWISS launched to the public in July, 2007. Joining Shannon at P Swiss are three of his closest business associates from Hudson Capital Group in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.: Steven W. Hudson, Scott W.   • Telefonica USA’s CEO, Pete R. Pizarro, was presented with the “2007 Best CEO Award” at the South Florida Business Journal’s Technology Awards ceremony, May 2007. Telefonica USA received further recognition at South Florida Business Journal’s “Business of the Year” in the technology category, April, 2007. YEC member Jacks Sterenfeld is Global Solutions Manager with Telefonica USA.

  • Wayne E. Stofsky has joined LSeven Solutions in Ft. Lauderdale as Managing Director. He will head up business development for LSeven, which specializes in consulting and computer integration services, products and solutions. In addition to growing the IT side of the business, Wayne will also manage production services including website development, graphic design, video production and marketing.

  • Dr. James Barry and his MBA marketing students completed their Marketing Plan Development Project with the following YEC members/companies: David Blyer, Profiles in Concrete, Inc.; Yolanda Harris, The Keynote Group; Rob Isbitts, Emerald Asset Advisors, LLC; Jeffrey Kramer, Kramer Weisman & Associates, LLP; Matt Kuttler, ReStockIt.com; Ruchel Louis, Successful Images, Inc.; and Andy McNeill, American Meetings, Inc.. The projects have been a great exercise for both the students and the participating companies.
