Dr. Peter Di Paolo

Dr. DiPaolo joined Nova Southeastern University as an adjunct faculty member in 1981, a visiting professor in 1988, and a full time faculty member in 1993, teaching courses for the Master's in Business Administration, Master's in International Business Administration, and the Undergraduate Business Programs. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Finance and economics at the H.Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. As such, his responsibility includes teaching both quantitative and theory courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is the lead instructor for several undergraduate business courses.

Prior to joining NSU, he served as Vice-President of Engineering/Finance for Multimedia Concepts Incorporated, a startup multimedia development company. His primary responsibility was to direct/and finance the New Product Development Department toward the creation and financing of new multimedia products for specific industry applications. Previously, he has also served as Senior Director of Engineering/Corporate Services for the Data Point Corporation, reporting to the Vice-President Product Development. He was responsible for a staff of 55 professional and technical personnel with an annual operating budget of approximately six million dollars and a capital budget of approximately nine million dollars.. His unique combination of behavioral and quantitative skills reinforced by an advanced education in business management, led to a proven record of bringing successful products to the marketplace, the development of several strategic business plans, and the ability to become an effective educator and mentor.

Dr. DiPaolo has been teaching in graduate level education since 1981 through many mediums including on-ground, online and WebCT modalities. His professional experience includes over thirty three (33) years of engineering, management, and executive consultancy in all aspects of business. Holding the position of Corporate Fellow, he served as a Management and Engineering Consultant in the corporate arena. His experience in the corporate arena and academic administration includes research & development, management development, employee recruitment and development, strategic and fiscal planning, and course development for undergraduate students.

Dr. DiPaolo’s undergraduate degree (Villanova University) is in Mechanical Engineering and his MBA and DBA (Nova Southeastern University) degrees are in Business Administration with Management as a major. His doctoral dissertation research was on the topic of "Capital Budgeting Techniques in Direct Foreign Investment”. Some of his other achievements include: 1) Epsilon Tau Lambda Honor Society, February 20, 1971; 2) Patent No.3, 579,778 Unitary Bi-Stage Code Wheel for mechanical sorting apparatus, May 23, 1971; 3) Listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, 1981, 1983; 4) Financial Executives Institute Award for Excellence in Financial Education, 1985; 5) Listed in Who's Who in the South and South West; Who's Who in Science and Engineering; Who's Who in American Education; Who's Who in Finance and Industry; and Who's Who in America; 6) Masters Thesis: "Dual Ladder Career Paths"; 7) Doctorate Dissertation: "Capital Budgeting Techniques and Post Audit Analysis in Direct Foreign Investment".
