Jorene Jameson, Ph.D. grew up in Philadelphia and currently resides in South Florida.

She received a BA in political science from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in public administration from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. After a long career in the public sector, Dr. Jameson entered Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the Ph.D. program and was appointed a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She was awarded her degree in 2017. Upon graduation, Dr. Jameson was hired by the University with the FAU Foundation, as a Director of Development. She has also served as an adjunct professor at FAU, the University of PA, Florida International University and St. Thomas University.

In her public sector career, Dr. Jameson served as the President and CEO of the Broward Education Foundation in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She has also held executive positions in the nonprofit sector with the YMCA, Girl Scouts, and Public Television. In the government sector, Dr. Jameson held leadership positions in state and local government in the state of Delaware, including appointed positions with the Governor, State of Delaware, and two City of Wilmington Mayors. From 1986-1989, Dr. Jameson was the recipient of a Kellogg Foundation National Fellowship. The fellowship enabled Dr. Jameson to study her focused research on childcare programs and initiatives nationally and internationally.

In her community, Dr. Jameson is active as a volunteer with Zonta, Deerfield Beach chapter and serves on the board and the scholarship committee.
