First-generation graduate Dominick John Spano earned his PhD in August 2023 from Florida Atlantic University in four years. His area of study is public administration with a concentration in organizational behavior. In Dominick's dissertation entitled 'Exploring Employee Turnover during the Great Resignation,' he inspected employee turnover and job satisfaction of associates who worked for the private, public, and nonprofit sectors during the period known as the Great Resignation.

Dominick holds multiple publications on subjects including organizational behavior, management, human resources, human behavior, public administration, and public policy. Dominick's work has been featured in Holistica Journal of Business and Public Administration and Global Encyclopedia of Public Administration, Public Policy, and Governance.

Dominick has acted as an Instructor or Graduate Teaching Assistant for eighteen courses during his tenure at FAU. Teaching is a true passion for Dominick, as he enjoys helping students to grow on a professional and personal level.

Dominick lived in Brooklyn, New York until moving to South Florida to attend college at the University of Miami, and he later earned his MBA from FAU. Dominick has worked in multiple industries, including banking, education, security, entertainment, and the public sector.

Dominick is proud of all of his accomplishments, but a major reason that he was able to garner such success is due to the individual consideration that he received from his professors in all of his academic enterprises. He aspires to provide this unprecedented level of care at Nova Southeastern University.
